2009 - The year the Kings get dirty. This year, the Maloof's are going gritty with their team image, so I decided to tag along. In the past our shoot with the team has always been upbeat and humorous. After directing this year's shoot, I reallized...mean and tough don't come naturally to me. I think we got enough for a couple of image spots, though. The posters were created in photoshop and the enviroment completed in After Effects. This was the first year I was able to dedicate an appropriate amount of time to our Kings campaign (thanks to the addition of 2 producers to our staff). I actually spent a week (off and on) coming up with the over-all design, including the posters. I'm still not finished with the package, however. Many more player posters to go.

We always have a great slate of high school football games each season. Unfortunately, we sometimes don't know our matchups until the week of the game. I needed to create a spot that gave the feel of great football, without blatantly identifying teams. I exported a ton of footage clips with Sapphire film damage from the Avid and completed the spot in After Effects. I was going for a "Minority Report" look of thin, translucent video panels.

Just a simple :10 spot for Wendy's High School Heisman award. The background images are specs for various sport fields and courts.

Oakland A's On Demand spot. Great DP shot the players for the tag. Finally, I can watch or direct the shoots instead of shooting everything!

Interleague play, love it or hate it, it's a great reason to put extra effort into our promos. Our graphics department is quite talented. This is above and beyond the look of our every day A's promos, but probably what they all should look like. I'll get right on that.

The FC Gold Pride - San Jose's Women's Professional Soccer team. They needed a spot using some poor quality Direct TV recorded game footage. That's why the footage is squeezed back some.

The Kings provide me with enough footage to whip together a "thanks for the memories" promo after Mike Bibby was traded to Atlanta. Zero to 60...just a teaser for our popular Northern California racing magazine show, featuring some of NASCAR and Indy Car's favorites - show produced by Jason Armeno.

The obligatory music driven montage, featuring motion graphics and effects from my time with Comcast Spotlight and Comcast SportsNet. All done in After Effects with no time and no budget. Well, just a little budget...I hired a grip to help shoot with the WNBA's Monarchs during media for their promos.

My latest demo reel. Mostly older spots for which I directed (many I shot as well), edited and created all effects and graphics. The Limn "de Sede morphe" (featuring the animated sofa) spot won a Silver Addy award (under $10k category) in Sacramento, and the Grand Prize (500,000 subs or smaller cable systems) at the Cable Television Advertising Bureau's national convention. The plan now is to simply add new spots as they are finished.
